ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is an operational boot that constitutes the ideal compromise between agility, lightness and stability. The HI-CUT high shaft provides the necessary support in parachute jumps and fast rope operations. The upper materials used are a combination of water-repellent and tear-resistant suede and CORDURA®, a breathable and particularly abrasion-resistant material. An innovative clamp hook allows individual adjustment of the lacing in the forefoot and ankle area. The GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear laminate, waterproof and highly breathable, is perfect for use in temperate and rather humid climates. The 2-layer PU midsole with MONOWRAP® structure surrounds and supports the foot like a sort of exoskeleton.

ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is certified as professional footwear according to EN ISO 20347:2012, it is antistatic and equipped with a complex sole that insulates from both cold and heat. The tread not only boasts excellent anti-slip properties, but also resists contact heat, oil and fuels.

For a correct fit


Thanks to the two-zone lacing, it is possible to adjust the laces of the forefoot and upper part of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI separately. In this way it is possible to adapt the shoe to the specific anatomy of the foot and change the lacing uphill and downhill.
Outsole and upper form a unit

The sole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is connected to the upper using a technically complex injection procedure, which guarantees effective cushioning and high wearing comfort. Then the upper part of the shoe is placed in a special mold, which is then filled with several layers of polyethylene foam. The result? A sole connected directly to the upper forming a single unit.

Lightness
polyurethane is used in this procedure. It is a very light foam.

Cushioning
polyurethane is a very light foam that has very good cushioning properties. Even if they are continuously crushed, the millions of bubbles that compose it retain their shape and always return to their original state. The result is a good rebound effect.

     Declinable in many versions
     thanks to the direct injection, it is possible to create very different variants of the sole. The various properties of the materials used make it possible to expand and diversify the areas of use of the shoes.

 
STABILITY FRAME A comfortable frame


The midsole with the LOWA MONOWRAP® frame of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI ensures maximum comfort. It is a three-dimensional midsole design, which was developed by LOWA in 1995. This frame hugs the foot comfortably and supports it on uneven terrain. The sole of the models equipped with STABILITY FRAME is raised.

LOWA® X-TRAC MILITARY soles


The sole meets the most stringent requirements in terms of resistance to slipping, which mainly depends on the design and rubber compound of the sole. The footwear offers ideal slip resistance on smooth, wet and oily surfaces but also good grip on the ground.

Functions

The two-layer midsole is injected directly onto the shoe. The layers have degrees of hardness harmonized with each other to obtain the maximum level of comfort.

The shoe is equipped with a replaceable footbed for optimal individual adaptation and, in combination with the orthopedic insoles ErgoPad® work:x and ErgoPad® work:h+ from BAUERFEIND®, is certified and approved for use as occupational footwear according to DIN EN ISO 20347:2012.



The special structure called LOWA MONOWRAP® ensures even more stability.


You can lace up the front area of the foot and the upper in ways

The shoe features hooks with a closed shape. The laces are guided securely and cannot slip out of the hooks. Closed hooks reduce the risk of the shoe getting caught on objects.

Sole injection method

The sole of LOWA multifunctional shoes is directly injected to ensure ideal cushioning and a lot of comfort. It is a complex injection molding procedure that connects the upper made with the Strobel method directly to the sole, thus giving the shoes ideal cushioning and incredible lightness.
