The Helikon-Tex Alpha Tactical Fleece is a lightweight fleece jacket designed to work both as a standalone layer and as extra thermal insulation under a softshell. Its grid fleece fabric helps retain warmth while wicking away excess heat and moisture, and the slightly extended back provides additional protection for the kidneys against wind.

Functionality is one of its strongest points: the jacket has five YKK zippered pockets — two at the hips, one chest pocket with a headphone cable outlet, and two shoulder-height pockets. The shoulder pockets also feature hook & loop panels, making them suitable for patches and identification markers.
