Presentation of the 10 carbon steel knives of the Tradition range in a wooden box with lid.
For collectors, the box set brings together the Tradition Carbonio range.
Opinel carbon steel is an unalloyed steel, with a high carbon content, which allows to obtain excellent hardness from the heat treatment operation, guaranteeing perfect cutting resistance, high wear resistance and easy regrinding. . However, since carbon steel has a low resistance to corrosion by humidity, it requires precautions for use: do not leave the knife in a damp environment, especially in the dishwasher, clean the blade with a greasy cloth after the use and grease it often as the joint.
Beech is the most used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. Coming from French crops, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous dark dashes. The handle is painted to be effectively protected from dirt and moisture.
