Ant is the most compact folding knife by Extrema Ratio. Despite its small size, this model features an extremely robust, durable, and reliable structure.
The handle, composed of an anodized anticorodal aluminum grip and a tempered steel frame, also acts as a lock for the blade through the Frame Lock system. This mechanism ensures that part of the frame folds inwards, securely fixing the blade in the open position, enhancing safety during use.
The tang has a hole for a lanyard, and on the right side of the handle, there is a steel clip for concealed pocket carry.
Ant is available in 4 versions with two types of steel supplied by Böhler, an Austrian company with which Extrema Ratio has collaborated for over 20 years. Ant Black and Ant Black Stone Washed versions use Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC for optimal balance between edge retention and robustness. The Rescue Red Stone Washed and Black Stone Washed M390 versions use Böhler M390 steel, heat-treated to 61 HRC, ensuring long-term cutting effectiveness, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
The sheep foot-shaped blade has a small hole at the top for easy opening. Its structure allows the user to comfortably rest their fingers on the back of the knife, facilitating ease of use.
Ant Rescue, with a red grip, has a specific serration for cutting high-tenacity cordage and aramidic materials. This version also has a tapered tang with an emergency screwdriver function, developed in collaboration with the "Alpine Troop School of the Italian Army."
